Meet Dr. Tamara
Dr. Tamara Redic-Cottrell is an educator, strategist, speaker, and licensed Texas Realtor whose work centers on economic mobility, leadership, and equitable access to opportunity.
With a career spanning education, financial literacy, organizational leadership, and real estate, Dr. Tamara brings a rare, interdisciplinary perspective to her work — blending research, strategy, and lived experience to help individuals, families, and institutions move forward with clarity and intention. Through Blueprint Education & Consulting (BEC), Dr. Tamara advises organizations on strategy, program design, and systems-level solutions. Through From Scratch™, she teaches and speaks on frameworks that support individual and community-level economic mobility
She holds a Doctorate in Education (Ed.D.), with doctoral research focused on culturally relevant and economically inclusive learning models for African American and underrepresented populations. Her research explored how access to practical financial education, social capital, and institutional navigation skills directly impacts long-term outcomes — particularly for first-generation students and professionals.
Dr. Tamara also holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA), a Master of Education (M.Ed.), and a Bachelor of Arts from Spelman College, grounding her work in both academic rigor and real-world application.

Professional Background & Leadership
Dr. Tamara’s professional background includes experience as a classroom teacher, school leader, curriculum designer, and economic education strategist. She has led and advised initiatives focused on financial capability, workforce readiness, and community impact across educational, nonprofit, and institutional settings.
Dr. Tamara is also a licensed K–12 teacher, principal, and superintendent in the state of Texas, bringing firsthand experience in educational leadership, governance, and system-level decision-making to her work.
She has served in leadership roles within the Federal Reserve System, where her work focused on economic education outreach, financial literacy, and culturally responsive learning strategies designed to expand access and understanding for diverse communities.
In addition to her professional roles, Dr. Tamara is deeply engaged in civic and community leadership. She has held board and advisory positions with organizations including:
